Some people take their fallout lore very seriously.

Not that I'm implying there's anything wrong with that. I don't think anyone has to worry about this mod being lore friendly in any capacity :P

I say this while writing dialogue for a talking lakelurk

As far as I'm aware, Fallout 3 is considered canon. Whether or not you like it, that makes Mothership Zeta part of the lore. Kind of like how Star Trek V is canon, despite being Star Trek V.

I don't care what Bethesda says, FO3 never happened for me lol.

In any case, this is all a moot point, as user29 has said, none of this is lore anyway, so I have no problem with it whatsoever. Jus' sayin, you dig? :P

I want to do something not in a cave though. Getting tired of caves. Maybe a building/lab :P

Why not setup a pre-war government/alien base all nice and underground. The FO universe they were doing plenty of shady stuff, VAX supercomputers, the FEV virus, the whole vault thing. You could even have a cabal of frozen mad scientists who were frozen in there, waiting for the aliens to return to continue their work.

Aliens crash, get captured, end up at an old military base, are experimented on, escape, enslave the people at the base and experiment on them for revenge/fun. Their goal be either to repair their ship and leave or to take over the mojave with hybrids.

Quest could even start with a random homeless bum offering to sell you a unique souvenir AKA a fragment of alien ship. You question him about it (Pay for info or something like that) he tells you where he found it. Just an idea. ;)

I don't believe hybrids are in the data files unfortunately. But I wouldn't be totally against their goal being to take over a portion of the mojave by increasing their numbers.

All right, so the next episode (in addition to the lakelurk minisode and Sam companion) is going to be aliens. I'm going to look into the hybrids. What I envision is they'll start at some underground military base, but as you progress through the episode they're going to begin conquering nearby settlements and claiming territory for their own until they have a sizable portion of land.

I'd love to hear some general ideas of anything you think should be included in the episode. I've only got an ever so basic framework in my mind. I'll come up with some decent stuff no doubt on my own but you guys always help.

Well the aliens would be smart, so i would say that they would have a way for other species to carry their young through experimentation. So no need for hybrids.

Can do whatever you guys want with them or not include them at all. I don't care. I thought they looked alieny enough but you guys can decide.

Abominations and Aliens might be enough. I'm thinking some births produce abominations and others full aliens. Abominations would be a result of them not perfecting their methods ;)

Perhaps trogs are what happens to any males captured within alien territory? Obviously I'll rename them.

Could do a mini quest or something maybe to get other "specimens" to improve the chance of perfecting the births. Go from Trog to Abomination to proper Alien.

Edit: If the trogs where the males captured. Aliens use them as guard dogs so to speak?

General Question, not my specific need

If you are (especially if you are) planning some large scale stuff like it sounds like the alien stuff is, do you think it might be a good idea to make this modular somehow? Some folks may want a li'l beastiality but not want aliens, or be cool with aliens and Deathclaws but find bloatflies gross.

I am OK with all you are doing thus far, this is more for other folks.

Both abominations and trogs have 4 fingers. Aliens only have 3...

Crossbreeding with aliens, produces an extra finger...

Why not let all offspring start as abominations - male offspring then develop into trogs, females idk...

Works for me. I'm right behind the whole military base bit. Hmm, as for them being in control. Why not get captured by regular humans(for whatever experiments), tossed in a cage/room/whatever. Breakout for x reason or some other cause(and run into the aliens), and toss in some good old hypno/mindcontrol stuff, and in turn you're the one who lets the aliens out, letting them take over the base. Heck, you could even use part of the base population as part of the breeding stock.

That's precisely why everything is modular in the first place and not all heaped up into one giant encounter. If you like aliens you can download the plugin and never have to deal with bloatflies or deatchlaws and so on and so forth. Also I like to use things from other episodes that I've already created, so If I were to make an esp for each creature it'd actually be creating more work for me. Though I do understand what you're saying, and that you don't personally want me to do it, I can't accommodate everybody.

What i seem to recall is plugins shouldn't be over 1000kb (I could be wrong) and I'm probably going to hit that limit sooner rather than later. In which case I'll just create a second breeder plugin for download. Call it part 2 or something.

Just keep things simple enough for you not to be overworked the truth is for me having them together actually gives me options whether or not go with one particular scenario or another.

As for your aliens I'm all for it not sure with the scenario but for a place where to put it how about atop the irradiated crater near morning star cave stick a crashed ufo there or something I don't know.

That sounds like nonsense from oblivion or something.. ;)

SCR is 1.7MB. Addon DLC is huge.. 15M for OWB, 25M for LR. The core ESM is 240M.

Those are all masters though. I thought esp's had a something where if they got too big they started lagging things up. Again could be nonsense I just seem to recall something along those lines.
