Missing mesh when NPCs pick things up...

Me again, seems like I'm making a ton of these threads lately...

So yeah, it seems I've deleted a mesh, or something, because whenever an NPC picks anything up (steals something, eats something, grabs a weapon, etc.) I get a brief flash of the "missing mesh" warning. Does anyone know which mesh this is?

Thats pretty weird as unless your using some kind of special mod that animates the pc actually taking an object, theres really nothing that could be missing. That is unless somehow all the actual meshes for all the objects you have picked up are gone, which is highly unlikely that oblivion would still be working if that was the case.

Any recent installs of mods of any kind? I'm speaking in terms of just before you noticed this issue happening.

Unfortunately, I really don't know when it happened...seeing NPCs grab things isn't all too common unless I actually stick around and watch them. I only really noticed it because I started attacking NPCs indiscriminately, and saw them running for weapons :P.

I guess my best bet would be to wait for it to happen again, then try to see what the Console ID tells me about it (hopefully I can actually click it).

Is it possibly you changed the combat anims for your character and somehow wiped out spefific ones that were used by all npc's? I don't know if that would give that error message though. Pretty strange issue you got here.

Will missing animations give the Missing Mesh symbol? Because that does sound possible...

I'm no pro by far at this, but Its my understanding that animations are considered or looked at as meshes. I think because yo create specific movements you have to use the skelekon and animate the skeleton's movements. Unless I'm wrong and hopefully someone with more animation experience can add in here or tell me I'm way off base and give correct information on this topic.
