Animations Aren't Working

Animations aren't working.

All of the sudden on my save, animations don't work normally. Instead of them playing out, the participants just stand there. This is universal now which is really annoying me. idleanimspriority is last but nothing is happening. I really need some help here!

have you installed anything new recently? I have not come across this issue yet (knock on wood) but typically if something was working and just randomly stops, I deactivate and reactivate in OBMM just to make sure all the files are where they need to be and that the right things get moved back to the bottom of my load order.

EDIT: eeekkk! this is post 666... that means even if I posted correct information something bad is still going to happen... ;)

I installed CLS and SMOC along with Personality Idles 4. I'm assuming that they might be doing something, so I'm playing a bit without them. Thanks for the response.

LOL'd at the 666 thing. ;D

Check with Wrye bash about savegame bloating too, after several hours of playing, Oblivion does that from time to time...

For CLS here are the things to try:

Put vtoy.esp last in load order (I set my animations with the lowest priority, so any other will overwrite them, it's that or impose myself to everyone, I chose the first option).

I'm not sure personality idles will work with CLS&SMC but it's just a matter of temporarily disabling it until you finish the quests.

Installed CLS and personality idles? Well, the latter is likely your problem. It has some really general conditions for certain animations, and they're pretty high in the Idle anims picker, so it tends to block any other anims from playing. If that's not the one, other likely causes are colourwheel's mods, as he/she also tends to pack them with a favorite seductiveidle that has only one condition:

IF Female Play Seductiveidle

After booting those two when I added CLS, I was amazed at all the other idle anims I hadn't seen for ages. Seductive idles can be nice but some people like them a little too much.

Precisely EvenstarGW. I think most mods with idles should simply have another switch in their condition that you can turn on or off...

This way you can easily check what's going on and moreover, you can make this switch flip on or off randomly giving a chance to see all the idles.

If your savegame is very old, I doubt Abomb counter is wrong.

Try to use "Repair Abomb" with Wrye Bash in save tap.

I'd check two things:-

Is your skeleton.nif the one it should be? (check the size. If it isn't at least 70k+, I'd expect it to be the problem).

Has any new mod over-written your animation kfs?

I find mods, or worse BSAa are full of such 'helpful things'.

Lot's of mods like to include a skeleton that allows for a normal humanoid to have a tail.

Problem is, that will destroy most custom animations and is not required. Any decent skeleton includes a tail.

The skeleton.nif is 75kb.

Actually, I have a more important problem going on right now. I get frequent crashes when entering/fast traveling into cities, and when waiting. I really need some help with this as it is really bugging me.
