Why did you come back to Oblivion from Skyrim?

39 posts in this topic

I play Skyrim and I love it!

But when I make my female character and can't see her in elegant or sexy pose I felt my character "empty".

When Pinup poses come out I try it but isn't user-friendly need one spell to choise animation and another to activate it. ¿How to make a pose with 2 hand weapon or dual weapons in that way?

The bodies from Skyrim look nice but you need an exagerated body because the head mesh it's bigger than oblivion.

Oblivion has the best body mesh for me (DMRA) looks great in armors and clothes because the breasts are big and round which it makes a pretty cleavage. The hips has a nice size, because of this, the thighs are well shaped, so is not only for breasts. In my opinion is the perfect body.

Truly?

For me it's the opposite. With my crap computer I can play oblivion on low settings at a bad resolutions at 15 FPS while in Skyrim I can play it at low settings at my computer's preferred resolution of 1440x900 at a fine 20-25. I always thought it that skyrim was more optimized.

How ?? I agree with Mailamea my computer too cannot handle Skyrim... Its an i7 with ATI HD 5400, But with a dying Hdd(too slow and too many bad sectors)ASUS X42Jr too be precise oblvion use to work with nearly 25 to 30 FPS... Skyrim never seems to get over 10-12 and 5-6 when dragon shows up.. or in cities:-/

I got angry after spending nearly 3 months wages on this laptop.... HDD went sick and no 3 yrs warranty for OEM's not to mention high hdd prices, I bought an andriod tablet and was done with the PC...

Well, I guess it's the fact that oblivion was modded a lot more than skyrim on my computer. Although I never installed any graphics mods for either games.

Because Skyrim has nowhere near the playability Oblivion still does. Give it a few years, and I'll play it again - this time modded to a fare-thee-well! ;)

When Oblivion came out, I went back to Morrowind until SI. When I was done with SI, I went back to Morrowind again ;) I'll tell you, though, SI was one of the best expansions ever. When I fully exhausted all I could of Morrowind, Oblivion had some really good mods already hopping, so I played those, up until Skyrim - including some quite passable DLCs. Now that Skyrim is done... I still have more Oblivion mods. Then Skyrim DLCs... but then... there are always more Oblivion mods! In a few years that will be true of Skyrim, too. I still have Morrowind installed, though. Just in case ;)

I found the skyrim main quest to be kind of short, to be honest. Same with all quest lines in it.

They seemed to be unleveled in places, which is all fine and dandy if you aren't using it to force you to level up before taking on your next quest, but that seemed to be why it was done, to make you feel it's longer because you had to spend more time away from the main quest to get powerful enough to do the main quest.

The perk system is pretty poorly done, IMO. Did you know that mods adding perks to specific trees conflict with other mods adding perks to the same trees? The worst kind of conflict too, outright overwriting of trees based on load order. The Creation Kit was shit, I hear as well, despite the fact they said it would be better then ever and had well known modders work on it, it was a buggy piece of shit that crashes constantly.

But yeah, I feel that Skyrim, while it has nice graphics and neat combat features, was no one as fun as a modded Oblivion, or even vanilla Morrowind.

Plus Sheo didn't have a cane in Skyrim. The fuck? They really dropped the ball on that one.

Am I the only one here who liked Skyrim so much that I wanted to see what Oblivion was all about?

I totally agree :D. Why did they get rid of it?!?!

Sheogorath also looked... odd in skyrim. It was kind of weird. He also lost most of his charm.

No, but I can tell you why. It would suggest they yet AGAIN implemented a linked list (like animations) but in THIS case made no attempt to merge amendments to the linked list.

Just shoddy implementation! They have some really dire programmers at Beth. Either that or they had people writing the CS who weren't aware of the esm/esp architecture of the game.

This is especially unforgivable as perks replace attributes.

Words fail me.

Losing charm...I think this is a key point. Most everything in the game had less charm than Oblivion. Skyrim was an amazing technical game - it looked damn near like real life, the combat was improved, fighting dragons was epic...but in the end the game lacked that special charm that Oblivion still has to this day.

It's boring. The world lacks colors, it's bland, combat is too simple and boring, dragons aren't THAT challenging, shouts are novelty...

It was better than I expected, but it still lacked the charm Oblivion or Morrowind had. I'm not big on sex mods (they're either too damn buggy, too hard to get working, or not very good in the end) so I don't lament their temporary loss of 'em or poses in Skyrim, but even with mods there isn't much to do, because there's not that many interesting places to visit.
