Loved the Thief series. People say 2 is the best, but I find that 3 is my favorite in terms of storyline/gameplay mix.

Totally agree with you there. Personally I really enjoyed the abandoned orphanage and knocking women over tables(That was before the Lovers series) xD

Where could I find all those mods? It's the first time I hear about Thief series.

They are not talking about mods for oblivion ... its a completely separate game series called Thief.

The first one, Thief : The Dark Project, came out in 1996 I think ... so its pretty old ... still its one of the best games for sneaking. I believe it is the original 'sneak' game upon which many other games have been based ...

Not only were its sneak mechanics innovative but the world was unique and richly developed ... even incorporating its own slang with terms like 'taffer' ... which is a word used in the place of curse words like 'bastard' or 'fucker' by guards ... (i.e. "I'm going to kill you, taffer!")

In the series you play a thief who has to sneak around and steal stuff and not get caught. His primary tactic was to use a combination of magic arrows, lockpicking, and stealth to do everything. The storylines of the three games revolve around the politics of the city he lives in - which centers on three groups ... the Trickster/Pagans who are trying to destroy civilization (they represent chaos), The Hammers who are religious fanatics devoted to creating civlization and technology (they represent order), and the Keepers who try to maintain balance between the two groups (obviously represent balance). The undead and other independant forces also play big roles.

There are several 'thief' mods for oblivion that try to give you some of the funcitonality from Thief in the Oblivion game world. Try going to TesNexus and look up Garrett or Thief Arsenal.

I think the first game was my favorite ... graphics are crap by modern standards ... but I really like Haunts, Apparitions, and Zombies as they were done in the first game.
