Game crashes when near the Strip

I didn't know where to post this, seems like the Technical Support section is only for Sexout, so I hope no one minds it being here.

Basically, New Vegas has been running fine with all the mods I have; there are no conflicts whatsoever. But up until recently, everytime I fast-travel to the strip, or even go near to the entrance via Freeside, the game crashes. I don't know what to do, I was hoping someone will give me some pointers on what to do now.

This is fine or even here: http://www.loverslab.com/Forum-Technical-Support--10

Well you either have a slightly corrupted save game or you do in fact have a conflict. You can figure it out by starting a new game and going straight to the strip and see if you crash. If you don't crash then it might be your current save game. If you still crash then you do have a conflict.

Only way to find the conflict may be the slow but effective disable everything, make a clean save and then start enabling mods one at a time until you start crashing and find the culprit.

You can also try posting your load order here to see if one of the many guru's can spot something obvious.

Yeah speaking about posting load order, how do I do that with Nexus Mod Manager? Although, I have the sneaking suspicion that I can't do that :(

In the mean time, I'll start disabling plugins :(

No clue. Almost no one here uses that POS. Most here use FOMM or Wrye Flash.

T.T I think I'm going to cry now...

Anywho, So I disabled all mods except for FalloutNV and the expansions (Just fallout only), load up my save, and it crashed. Load up a previous save, it crashed again. Then I created a new character, coc myself to Freeside and tried to get into the strip through there and it still crashed! All this with no mods, expansions, plugins whatsoever :/

Something tells me I need to do a fresh install...

May I also ask why people don't like NMM?

NMM interferes with FOMM which has tools modders find useful. Also, there are issues like you are having now where a load order would be helpful and NMM can't provide it.

As to your corrupted game you might not need a full reinstall. Open Steam, right click on new vegas, go to properties. Select the "Local game Files" tab and click on "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache". Its the equivalent of a reinstall while being faster because it only replaces bad files instead of doing everything from scratch.

If it still crashes after validation, THEN you need a reinstall.

That took quite a while. Anyway, I loaded up the game with all the mods, game crashed, disable the mods still crashed. Then I tried going with a new character (again, coc to Freeside). I managed to get to the sentry bot, gave him the caps and actually got in. It worked alright albeit it crashed a few seconds later. I managed to save before it crashed so I loaded the game up; game crashed again :(

I guess a reinstall is in order *sigh* I'll do tommorow. Thanks for the help anyway.

The only people I've seen posting load orders from NMM are posting screenshots, either they removed that option, or hid it very well.

No need to reinstall, just have steam validate the cache. It's slow, but still faster than a reinstall. Deactivate all the mods first, not just by unticking them, but actually deactivating them. In FOMM you do this in the package manager, not sure how in NMM.

In NMM go to the mods tab and double click each mod you have in there and that will deactivate all of them.

Also check out this video. It helped me a lot in the performance aspect of the game.

It's a bit late for that, but thanks anyway. I know GophersVids, in fact because of him, I sorted out the 60hz bug
